Over the years we have transformed small boutique hotels into renowned success stories and have upscaled established resorts. From initial concept creation to the finishing touches of a press release, we are invested throughout all of our projects, and to this day, maintain longstanding clients.
After working in the travel industry for 15 years, Samir Saab founded Prohotel in 1989 after recognizing a gap in the market for small luxury properties. Based in North America, the aim was to gain important exposure for small independent hotels around the world that excel in style, service and concept. Subsequently the company developed its services, incorporating marketing, consulting and operations while expanding its offices globally.
Prohotel’s success has led to its integral involvement with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), where Samir now holds a position on the executive board. From the beginning of this longstanding fruitful relationship, Prohotel has served as SLH’s sales representative in South America and Mexico and has been responsible for its significant increase in sales and membership, as well as its reputation as a leading brand in the luxury hotel industry.
During its 30 years of experience, Prohotel has positioned many properties in the luxury market such as Ikal del Mar in Riviera Maya (now Viceroy Riviera Maya), Mexico, and world renowned health retreat, Chiva Som in Thailand.
With a portfolio spanning the Americas, Europe and Asia, the company continues to grow its international presence creating unique voices for both boutique hotels as well as more commercial brands.
Today, Samir is still very much at the helm of Prohotel and marries his experience with the cutting edge concepts driven by his international team of specialists.
Part of the Prohotel philosophy behind all of its projects is to incorporate as much of the local character as possible. Under our own management, we aim to hire locally so that guests can enjoy cultural immersion as well as seamless service without any pretense.
Design is a vital ingredient to the character of a hotel, and we work with minimal impact on the environment. From building a spa on stilts in order to preserve the natural environment to working with architects who specialize in historical preservation, we always consider the protection of local surroundings.
We also endeavor to use natural resources that are in keeping with the area: coconut oils in an outdoor jungle shower, palm trees dotted around a swimming pool and organic bath products. We believe that these elements make for an authentic experience.
